Driving in Europe

I have recently returned from a business trip in Germany. I am interested in your viewpoint on French/Belgian/German drivers who are in the habit of speeding up behind a car in front forcing drivers to pull in. If not they stay on your tail. Equally, cars pull out to overtake from say, the middle lane, with litttle margin for error. I notice a lot of English drivers are doing this now. What is your opinion?

I drive a lot in all mainland European countries: Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal. I also do about 5,000 miles a year in Thailand. I never have the problem you describe. If I'm in someone's way I get out of their way. But I don't ever intimidate other drivers in the manner you describe.
