Jaguar XF ride quality

I bought a Jan 2009 2.7D Premium Luxury XF with 19 inch wheels 4 months ago. The car is fabulous but the ride quality over the poorly maintained roads here in Buckinghamshire is terrible. I traded-in a MY 2000 Jaguar S Type for the XF and there is no comparison between the 2 cars. The S type rode over the bumps and undulations with serenity: in the XF I feel every irregularity.

I am now thinking of selling the XF for something different. Something that will approach the ride quality of the S Type but with much of the equipment level and refinement of the XF. (Obviously an XF with the S Type's ride is the ideal car but it doesn't exist!). I've thought of a Honda CRV, Hyundai Santa Fe or ix35, Volvo S60 or XC60. I wasn't impressed by a new Merecedes E class.

You could go down to the 17" wheels with much deeper profile tyres of the base 'Luxury' model XF. If your dealer has one in stock, ask for a ride in it.
