Is there a speed/load rating for space saver wheel rims?

Is there a speed/load rating for space saver wheel rims or just the tyres?

I'm building a special and want narrow width rims and space savers are just right. Would they be legal if fitted with higher speed and load rated tyres?

This is a difficult question to answer with confidence as it's not a scenario we've come across before. We don't advise doing this - space savers wheels (as with the tyre) are designed for short journeys at limited speeds. It's possible that the rim's structural strength is not sufficient to allow it to deal with high cornering forces.
