Should I buy an ex-police car?
I’m interested in buying an ex-police BMW 330d saloon. I prefer cars with no extras. I don’t want leather, sunroof etc. I cover around 8,000 miles per annum and like the basic spec but with a punchy engine. I have no issue with any drill holes in the trim either.
My question is: are police cars maintained properly and through to the end of their service life? I’m assuming the cars used by the police are kept in tip top mechanical condition until they’re disposed off.

Yes, an ex-police car should be well-maintained. Police forces tend to have their own workshops which carry out regular maintenance. I would expect the car to have done high mileage though.
