Wrinkly bottom

Two weeks after buying a new Subaru Legacy I was rear-ended and sustained considerable damage. Norwich Union paid for the repair on behalf of the other driver. This involved the supply, spraying and fitting of a new bumper. After one year this "new" paintwork started to flake off and I have been advised that the bumper had not been properly primed prior to the application of paint i.e. defective workmanship. The proprietor of the bodyshop refuses to accept responsibility and the bumper is now an eyesore. I am reluctant to pay to have this work done again. Do you have any advice for me?

Your grievance is not against the bodyshop. You did not employ the
bodyshop. It is against the other party's insurer that commissioned the work.
