Cramper van

Summer is on the way and I'm toying with the idea of getting a camper van (or something that could double as an occasional live-in vehicle for festivals). It would be replacing my beloved Nissan Micra, which is reliable but not too good for sleeping in. I am after something fairly small that would be OK to drive around town, not too heavy on fuel and preferably that I could stand up in when needed (I am 5'4"). Oh, and reliable would be good. Or would I be better off hiring the helicopter and yurt for the money this is going to cost in maintenance?

Summer is coming? You could have fooled me. Look out the window. The smallest camper I've ever seen was one based on the Suzuki Wagon R, and that was literally the size of the Wagon R, with an elevating roof. Next smallest, the Romahome R10 single berth camper based on the Citroen Nemo. But currently most popular seem to be Jap-scrap used-imported Mazda Bongos of which you'll find more and all the necessary links in the Mazda Bongo entry in car by car breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk
