Going nowhere
I have designed and fitted an inertia switch into my rear high-level brake light, so that under braking it lights in the normal way. However, when stationary, it does not annoy those people behind. Is it legal? And what happens at the next MoT?

Good idea for preventing red-eye. But sometimes it is desirable to show as many brake lights as possible. For example when you are the last vehicle in a traffic queue round a blind bend. Also you would need to restore the light to normal operation for the MoT.
