Is there any way to get driving lessons for a teen under 17 years old?
My son is just about to turn 16 and over the next 12 months I would like to give him the opportunity to get his driving skills up to the level where he can his pass test as close to his 17th birthday as possible. He has already had a few lessons with Young Driver and we will continue this, but I wanted to know if you have any additional advice on ensuring he is able to pass his test as quickly as possible, but also allowing him to get plenty of driving under his belt. Do you recommend any intense driving courses? Are there any private roads/facilities where he could practice?

The best way to gain experience is simply to drive a lot, in different conditions so he isn't nervous when it comes to the test. Pathfinder is a charity that runs events for 15-17 year olds who can take part in driving courses - a bit like Young Driver (which we rate highly so definitely keep at that): under17driver.co.uk/events
