Please can you give me some advice re the sale of a 10 week old FIAT 500 1.2 Pop. We bought it under scrappage as my daughter was starting work and needed a more reliable car, but in the knowledge that she may soon move to London with her job. This has now happened and with living in inner London, the car is impractical and I now need to sell it in the next 3 weeks before the insurance expires. I am wary about selling privately and being away at work a lot this is not easy anyway. I know I will lose out by not selling privately, but we chose the FIAT as it was clearly in demand and was holding value well. Looking at Autotrader there still don't seem to be many around, so hopefully I should be OK. I have tried one of the 'we buy your car' websites and the offer was derisory, so do you think I would be best taking it to the BCA Auctions or trying a few Fiat dealers? When I bought the car I did ask a few dealers and they all said then they would be interested in re-purchasing a nearly new model. What sort of price do you think I can reasonably expect - it is 59 reg in white with a couple of small extras and will have about 400/450 miles max by date of sale.

Are you sure your FIAT dealer won't make you an offer you can't refuse? That would be my first point of call. I met someone last September who had just bought a new 1.2 Pop for £6,500 on scrappage on a buyback deal of £7,500 2 months later. A number of readers are facing a very long wait for a new 500, so right now these cars are gold dust.
