Is colour really linked to depreciation?
Thinking about the new Golf GTI and the imminent S3. In the light of the CAP report that white cars have recently realised up to 6% more than average at resale after 3 years, does your experience reflect these trends, or would you opt for red, black or metallic?

I'd go for white because it is also a more robust colour. Does not suffer from oxidation as red cars can still do and also seems to be more resistant to stone chips. I write as the owner of a 5 year old solid while car. Interestingly I had this argument with a guy from Glass's about 5 years ago. He then thought white was a no-no. He was wrong. I was right.
