Banger with fireworks
I was hoping you could advise me on what car I should buy to a budget of about £1,500. I have looked at things like a Land Rover Series 3, but they seem to a bit more expensive than I can afford, I also quite like Alfasuds and Alfettas but they seem to be hard to come by. What would you recommend? I was hoping for something pre 1985 that has got a bit of character.

Just hang out at part exchange auctions where you occasionally see some unexpected gems being 'got gone' by big motor retail chains. If you go out with a preconceived idea of what you are looking for you will either pay too much, or end up with a dog, or both.
