Style over substance

This car was provided as a courtesy car whilst our Z4 required warranty work. I was delighted at first but after 10 days of usage in varied driving conditions I have mixed feelings about this car. It looks fantastic, is beautifully built and very well appointed. It is lovely to drive and is quiet and refined. The interior is of a very high quality and has all the driver equipment and comforts anyone could wish for. A wonderfully refined motorway cruiser.

That said I feel the driving experience is somewhat remote and the car is prone to oversteer when driven with gusto. Performance is adequate rather than exhilarating. There are too many small buttons on the dashboard for my liking. The front seats are comfortable and adjustable for all drivers. The rear seats are somewhat cramped and the backrests are very upright so only suitable for smaller adults or children but that’s not what this car is all about. The boot is reasonably large but not suitable for large individual items.

All in all a very good car with much to recommend but for me a somewhat numb though very refined driving experience .
