Deposits being taken for electric Vauxhall Corsa-e
Vauxhall has announced its electric Corsa will start at £26,490 - with deposits now being taken ahead of deliveries from early 2020.
The new Vauxhall Corsa will be closely related to the Peugeot 208 when it makes its public debut later in 2019. And, like the 208, it'll be available as an electric-only model with a 50kWh battery and 136PS electric motor.
With a 205-mile range, Vauxhall says the Corsa-e "aims to normalise electric car ownership". Using a public fast-charger, the manufacturer claims the electric Corsa can be charged to 80 per cent of its capacity in around 30 minutes.
The Corsa-e will be available in two trim levels, with a £26,490 start price after the Government's £3500 plug-in car grant. Both models feature a seven-inch touchscreen display with navigation, an 11kWh on-board charger, alloy wheels and rear parking sensors.
Deposits of £500 are now being taken, with the first 500 customers to place a reservation to receive a free home-charging kit when they take delivery.
Vauxhall is quoting a finance figure of £270 a month based on a 47-month PCP deal, following a customer deposit of £5,549.40. That's for an SE model with Orange Fizz paint (£650), and there's an optional final payment of £9,123.

Updated Vauxhall Corsa-e range priced from £27,055
The all-electric Corsa-e is now available in sporty GS Line and Ultimate variants. GS Line replaces previous SRi Premium variants, while Ultimate replaces previous Elite Premium models. The streamlining from previously three variants to two reflects the market demand for the Corsa-e, with customers preferring higher specification trim models.
Corsa-e models will now come standard with Vauxhall’s e-toggle shifter already available on the Mokka-e, replacing the previous ‘cobra’ shifter. The new control allows drivers to select between reverse, neutral and drive, while a Brake (B) button allows drivers to increase energy recovery via the regenerative braking technology.
Both GS Line and Ultimate Corsa-e models retain identical equipment and technology levels to their outgoing trims, with prices remaining the same. Corsa-e GS Line prices start from £27,055 OTR after the current Government Plug-in Car Grant, while Ultimate models start from £29,660.
Importantly, all Corsa-e and Mokka-e models remain eligible for the £1,500 Government Plug-in Car Grant.
The Corsa-e features a 50kWh battery connected to a 136PS (100kW) electric motor and is capable of up to up to 222 miles on a single charge under WLTP testing. Supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, an 80% charge takes just 30 minutes.

Vauxhall Corsa-e Anniversary Edition priced from £31,000
Vauxhall has revealed the new Corsa-e Anniversary Edition to celebrate 40 years of Vauxhall superminis. Featuring a unique design and enhanced specification, the fully electric model is limited to just 1000 numbered units in the UK.
The Corsa-e Anniversary Edition includes a range of styling updates inspired by Vauxhall’s heritage, with the first Corsa (badged Nova in the UK) having been unveiled 40 years ago in 1982.
The Anniversary Edition is available exclusively in a new ‘Record Red’ metallic paint finish, inspired by the ‘Carmine Red’ from the original Nova, and comes with further exterior and interior upgrades. A black grille with black front and rear Vauxhall Griffin badges is included on all Anniversary Edition models, alongside black ‘Corsa’ lettering at the rear – which is prominently centred across the rear tailgate, as first seen on New Grandland and All-New Astra – and 17-inch alloy wheels in gloss black, with matt grey inserts.
Inside, the Anniversary Edition features a modern interpretation of the classic Nova’s tartan seat fabric. The chequered front sports seats are accompanied by a presentation box with four pairs of socks that are inspired by the pattern found in the original 1980s Nova SR and the one found in the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition. Each pattern comes in both small and large sizes.
Based on the GS Line version, the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition also benefits from a comprehensive list of standard equipment, including front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera and blind-spot alert. For added comfort and convenience, the model is equipped with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as well as electric folding and heated door mirrors.
Infotainment is provided via a 7-inch colour touchscreen with satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth® and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto™, while driving information is displayed via a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Driver assistance features fitted as standard include lane departure warning with lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert and automatic emergency city braking. Priced at £31,000 OTR, the model will be available to order online.
Completing the Anniversary Edition’s transformation is a black dashboard strip and interior number plate highlighting the Nova and Corsa’s 40-year heritage in the UK.

Updated Vauxhall Corsa Electric priced from £32,445
Vauxhall has revealed UK pricing and specification for the New Corsa. Britain’s best-selling supermini will be available in a choice of three trim levels – Design, GS and Ultimate – with prices starting from £19,625. Orders are open now, with first deliveries in Q4 2023.
The New Corsa will feature Vauxhall’s bold and pure Vizor front end across the range as well as a number of additional styling and technology improvements, while fully electric models are available with Vauxhall’s next-generation battery technology, improving both range and performance.
The Vauxhall Corsa finished 2022 as the UK’s top-selling supermini and second best-selling car overall, and topped the overall sales charts in 2021. It is also the best-selling car in its segment so far this year, while the Corsa Electric is the best-selling Small Electric Car (Electric B-Hatch), according to the latest SMMT figures. The New Corsa will look to continue the success story for Vauxhall as the brand moves towards becoming an electric-only manufacturer from 2028.
Vauxhall Vizor
The New Corsa becomes the final model in Vauxhall’s passenger car range to adopt the distinctive Vizor front end - a single smooth panel that sits between the LED headlights, housing the advanced Vauxhall driver aids and safety technologies, with the Griffin logo at the centre.
Other styling updates include 17-inch black alloy wheels, as well as black roof, black badging and black Corsa lettering on GS and Ultimate models.
All Corsa models are fitted with LED headlights as standard. Ultimate trim features Vauxhall’s IntelliLux LED® Pixel Matrix light technology, which automatically cuts out oncoming road users from the beam, ensuring drivers have a clear view of the road even in dark and poor conditions without dazzling others.
Upgraded interior
Inside, the New Corsa’s upgraded infotainment system includes a new 10-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, which can be accessed wirelessly on Electric models featuring the upgraded 156PS powertrain, as well as petrol GS and Ultimate variants. The Corsa Electric 156PS also features wireless phone charging, Vauxhall Connect and Connected Navigation, with the latter also available on petrol Ultimate models.
A 3.5-inch digital instrument cluster is fitted as standard on petrol Design models. This is upgraded to a 7-inch display on all other trims. On petrol GS, Ultimate and Electric 156PS models, the display also benefits from new graphics.
In front of the instrument display, the New Corsa features an updated steering wheel design, while new front sports seats are available on GS and above. These are finished in Alcantara® on Ultimate trim, which also adds heating and massage functions.
New Corsa Electric
New for Corsa Electric is Vauxhall’s next-generation 51kWh battery. This, combined with an upgraded electric motor now producing 115kW (156PS), results in the New Corsa Electric delivering more performance whilst achieving 246 miles (WLTP) between charges.
From 3rd August, buyers will be able to choose between two powertrain options on the Corsa Electric, with the existing 100kW (136PS) powertrain remaining available, which achieves up to 222 miles between charges (WLTP). For the first time, this powertrain option will be available in Design trim as well as GS.
All New Corsa Electric models come as standard with an 11kW on-board charger, allowing for a 0-100% charge to be completed in 5hrs and 15 minutes. The same full charge using a 7kW home wallbox is estimated to take 7hrs and 30 minutes. Supporting 100kW rapid charging, a typical 10%-80% charge will take just 30 minutes.
The New Corsa will also be available from launch with a choice of efficient 1.2-litre petrol engines. Customers can choose from a naturally-aspirated 75PS engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, a turbocharged 100PS engine with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox, or a 130PS unit available as an eight-speed automatic.
A new 48-volt hybrid powertrain delivering improved efficiency without the need to plug in will also be available later this year.
Specification
As part of Vauxhall’s simplified range, petrol variants of the New Corsa are available in three trim levels – Design, GS and Ultimate. The Corsa Electric is available from launch with the next-generation 156PS powertrain in GS and Ultimate trims, while from 3rd August the existing 136PS powertrain will be offered in Design and GS.
All Corsa models are equipped with LED headlights as standard. For added convenience, Design trim also benefits from automatic headlights and wipers and rear parking sensors. Infotainment is provided by a 7-inch touchscreen on the Electric Design 136PS, while all other models receive the new 10-inch touchscreen. Safety is enhanced via a suite of driver assist technologies, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keep assist and speed sign recognition.
GS trim adds a rear-view parking camera, which features a new high-resolution, panoramic display on Electric 156PS models. The alloy wheels are upgraded from 16-inches to 17-inches, while inside there is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Electric GS 156PS models also feature keyless entry and start.
Finally, Ultimate trim sees the headlights upgraded with Vauxhall’s IntelliLux LED® Pixel Matrix light technology. Additional driver assist features include Blind Sport Alert (also available on Electric GS 156PS models) and Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Positioning Assist. Comfort is enhanced with heated, massaging seats finished in Alcantara® and a heated steering wheel. Keyless entry and start is available on both petrol and Electric variants.
