Hello,

I was wondering if if a share of responsibility existed in traffic accidents when a lobby and its trailer are involved and have different insurance polices. In France the lobby is held responsible for 70% of the damage it caused, 30% for the trailer.

Do you mean 'lorry' where you say 'lobby'. If not, what is a lobby?

Surely the responsibility is on the lobby driver irrespective if drawing a trailer.

In France and most of continental Europe the lobby and the trailer have separate registrations and insurance.

In France and most of continental Europe the lobby and the trailer have separate registrations and insurance.

In the UK, a trailer is regarded as part of the towing vehicle it's attached to and damage to third parties is covered by the towing vehicle's insurance
