Princess and the Pea
My lovely new Citroen DS3 came fitted with Michelin Energy Saver tyres, 195/55 R16. At the risk of sounding like a princess, I think I could feel the bump if I ran over an ant. Also, the puppy was car sick.
I have now switched temporarily to winter tyres, Dunlop Winter Sport and obviously the same size (195/55 R16) and I can run over ants and feel nothing and the puppy isn't sick.
Why is this and what should I do come March as I don't suppose I should drive on winter tyres all the time?
Any advice or signposting to advice would be really appreciated.

It's because the winter tyres are rubber rather than much harder rubber/carbon black compound and because the winter tyres stay soft at much lower temperatures.
