  Anyone else disappointed with the 'expert' Sarah Tooze's reply to a user question about PowerShift issues? Surely everyone must know these gearboxes have a history of being troublesome! Ford say they don't have a history of this being an issue and nor have any recalls been issued. Unfortunately, due to the age of the vehicle they are unable to help as the vehicle is out of warranty so this is an issue you will have to take up with the dealer you bought the car from.

  A neighbour had the car repaired at a specialist a few weeks ago, £700 less than a ford dealer quote, and as i drove to bring her home, I said get shut of after. They were given a 1 year warranty. It failed last week and was taken away on a breakdown truck. I have repeated my advice.
• Ford Focus - Crankshaft sensor 19 Jan 2020 (Forum)
  Hi, I need to replace the crankshaft sensor on my MK1 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI, but have read in the manual that I need to reposition the crankshaft to TDC. Is it essential that I do this? What's happens if I don't? The sensor replacement seems just about manageable, but the repositioning bit seems a bit too much for my basic knowledge.

  I have a 1998 Ford fiesta, and the Windscreen wiper fuse keeps blowing. I replace it and then it is fine for a few days. (I complete a thorough rain test (Watering can) and it is always fine, but then just blows after a few days.

  As well as considering the Ford Mondeo 1.6 Ecoboost (see post https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/128695/ford-mondeo---ford) I am also considering the following:- Hyundai ix 35 with 1.6 petrol. Vauxahall Zafira Tourer with 1.4 T engine.

  The airbag malfunction warning light is almost permanently showing in my friends Ford Fiesta. It can be turned off temporarily by moving the seat and spraying wd40 on something underneath. Sorry that it's a vague description, I'm just going on information I've been given second hand.

  Looking at a used ford focus. All looks good except in the last service paper work it talks about a weak exhaust bracket. When driving over bumppy forecourt I could hear what I thought was knocking coming from rear. If this was the exhaust bracket how much to fix this.

  My Focus 1l Ecoboost was making a tapping noise so i booked it into the garage. They took it to a Ford dealer who stripped the enginge to discover that the crankshift has broken up and have advised that the engine needs replaced. Any advice on what could have caused this would be much appreciated.

  Hi, I'm looking to scrap my 2005 Ford Ka as it needs too many repairs- most recently it needs a new alternator. I've been quoted around £35 to pick up and scrap the car. However, the battery in the car is brand new and hardly been used.

  I have seen a nearly new (1 year / 8000 miles) Mondeo at £23k. At first glance that seems good against the Ford list price of £32k, but Broadspeed configures the 'real' new price for the car at £26k. The used car is not VAT-qualifying. So, surely, the used car is the 'real' price, less VAT = £21.6k and then less a bit more for depreciation.

  I have Ford Focus 1.6 zetec 2003 model, 89500 miles regularly serviced. Today driven 10 miles in it no problems at all, stopped to unlock parking space, got back in key in the ignition, turned ignition very quick clicking sound and flickering dah lights, car will not start.

  Hi I have a 01 ford focus it has started to overheat. I have changed the thermostat valve and water pump. When it starts to overheat the needle goes to red when I slow down it returns to the middle. On occasion I had to pull off the road and open the water tank when I do that I can here a gurgling sound coming from the coolant hose that Leeds to the back of the engine.
• Ford Mondeo MK2 - Hot Starting Problem 15 Oct 2014 (Forum)
  The vehicle has an intermittent hot start problem and when it occurs it will not start until the car has cooled down for approx 30 mins. Spark plugs are Ford OEM and been changed recently, HT leads are in good condition and battery tests show it fine and healthy. Engine is the 1.8 Petrol Zetec-e    Not sure what to look for next?

  My ford focus 2 litre 2005 diesel estate cars battery sense smart charging light (battery symbol) is illuminated as soon as I switch the ignition but does not extinguish when the car starts. The battery is fully charged.

  Hi, could someone tell me if the many problems that the old Focus 1.6 diesel seems to suffer from ie. turbo failure and injector leaks still apply to the new shape one 2010 onwards. Is it the same engine or have Ford solved these problems. Thanks for any information given as i am thinking of buying one of these and don't really want to be paying out for expensive repairs. sparky100.

  Which model of Ford Focus do you suggest - 1.0 Ecoboost or 1.6 Zetec? Salesman has suggested the 1.0 but I'm unsure about its power?

  HI CAN ANY1 HELP I HAVE GOT A FORD FOCUS 1.6 PETROL THE CLUSTER DIALS ON THE DASH ARE NOT WORKING, NOR THE MILAGE COUNTER,  DID HAVE A BATTERY LIGHT ON BUT THATS GONE OUT NOW, BUT STILL NO DIALS WORKING, BEEN TOLD IT COULD BE THE CLUSTER AND WANTED A SECOND OPINION COULD IT BE THE SPEEDO SENSOR OR IS IT THE CLUSTER THANKS JASON
• ford fiesta tdci - fiesta 1.4 tdci cutting out when cold 21 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  my 02 ford fiesta tdci,  keeps cutting out when i slow down to go round a corner. it seems to happen when its cold. ive had the car seviced and diesel filter changed.  anlong with the maf sensor, cam sensor and fuel lines, there are no fault codes showing , its costing me a fortune at the garage .help
