• Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 3 x gearboxes in 1 month 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
  Service manager said he hopes this new one will be OK as the warranty on the gearbox will expire when the car is 3 years old i.e. 1st March. Surely after a catalogue of disasters Ford cannot simply disown the warranty work! or is the service manager correct? What would you do?

  The immobilizer was Ford Original, built with the car. I rememer only that when I used to push the RC button a "click" was audible near the CAR RADIO. Does anyone know how to "disable" the immobilizer? Thanks in advance. Nemo79blu from MILAN-ITALY

  I posted a question about this a couple of days ago. Anyway I took my Ford Focus to a Ford garage today and the mechanic noticed when he turned the steering wheel from side to side that he could hear a clicking type noise which he said was a bearing in the steering rack that was faulty.

  Hi guys My beloved Ford KA3 got rear ended and need some suggestions for a replacement but bigger vehicle? I have a budget of £5k and with a baby on the way want low running costs (Tax, Tyres, Servicing, Repairs) but with a bit more space for "stuff".

  I tried this again 20 minutes later and it was the same thing. Any ideas what the problem is? Is it easily recifiable? Should i be taken the motor to a Ford dealer (all services are through Ford). Thanks for looking!

  Over a year ago I speculated that Ford may use a single turbo variable vane version of the twin turbo 2.2 engine fitted to the 407 etc though with the same power and torque figures as the twin turbo. This because the spec for this engine was quoted in the Ford / PSA tech spec published for the engine family along side the 175 bhp twin turbo and 150bhp single turbo version used in the Freelander.

  The time has come for me to stop looking at pictures on Autotrader and actually trade up the Getz for a Focus.   Upon collection I was told that considerable effort was needed to remove the rear brake drums and it was considered that they had probably never been removed during the life of the car. All previous services were carried out by a Ford Dealer. Upon scrutinising the Ford Service Checksheets, I noticed that the wording adjacent to the tick box says "check rear linings for wear using inspection pad inspection holes" In other words the drums need not be removed.
