Ford 1.8TD Engine 21 Jun 2004 (Forum)
, I now travel much further to work and am looking for a diesel car that will acheive about 50mpg. I've narrowed my choice down to: Ford Mondeo 1.8TD LX on a 99 V. Ford Escort 1.8TD LX on a 99 T Peugeot 406 HDI 110 on a 99 T. The Pug would probably cost most to run, and I can get the Escort for about £2,000 so that makes it the cheapest of the bunch, the Mondeo is the most expensive at £3K, but it comes taxed and tested. -

Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi 2006 - Diesel Pump/Injectors 30 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Trying to sort a problem with my Ford Focus TDCi 1.8 2006: the engine occassionally has what I can only describe as a 'hickup' at about 1500 RPM - feels slightly like a misfire on the injectors, but as it only happens at those revs, could the fault be with the pump, rather than injectors? -

Ford SMax - Warranty Repair 6 times in 10 weeks 24 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 2011 SMax that i purchased in April 2012 from a dealership (ex-demo), since the 22nd of July I have experienced an issue with a "Steering Malfunction" message on screen that renders the car unstartable. Car was relayed by the AA to a ford dealership and "fixed" under warranty and i had the car back within a week. The following week the same issue occured, again it was relayed and again it was "fixed". This has now occcured 6 times and ford seem unable to fully resolve the underlying issue.
