  I keep hearing from people i can do this but...am i right in thinking that if i have a ford focus 1.8tdi with 42,000 on the clock that i can get my fuel pump problem fixed for free under the recall process ???? if ford made the car with this common problem then its down to them to fix it for free yes ????

  On checking underneath, the flexible joint ( a wire mesh thing) between the manifold and the exhaust has started to break up inside the mesh. Been told by Ford that you have to renew the whole manifold as you cannot get a separate joint. Cost about £180 plus labour of up to 3 hours. At Ford rates that is £60 per hour! Has anyone else had this problem or would like to comment please?

  Hi, I have a 10 year-old Ford Focus 1.8 LX TDDI. It lost power while driving earlier this week and wouldn’t start again. The local Ford dealer in Northern Ireland is quoting £660 to have a new pump fitted since that the problem.

  Hi i own a 1996 Ford fiesta LX Endura 1.3, and when i change gear the rev seem to stay high for at least 5-10 seconds. i have taken the carb to bits and cleaned it, also i have checked the throttle cable and the throttle pedal and there is no probs there.

  My wife's 98 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Auto has a misfire/stutter when driving but the problem doesn't show up when the car is stationary (or on the Ford diagnostic testbed) The car momentarily looses power and then picks up again and drives OK. (until the next time) The car has been recently serviced by Ford and the CVT has been checked and is OK.

  I drove it yesterday for the first time in a while and discovered it is now very much worse and feels as though there may be a fuel starvation problem. I saw a posting some weeks ago about this which suggested that there is a problem that Ford dealers are aware of and that the problem is the fuel pump. I spoke to my local Ford dealer at the time and they suggested it was likely to be HT leads! Can anyone please confirm the faulty fuel pump scenario Many Thanks Peter Bowman

  My R-Reg Galaxy has just fractured the exhaust pipe at the junction where the pipe from the catalyst enters the main exhaust system. The catalyst looks OK.I have been told by an independent exhaust company and the local Ford dealer that repairs of any kind on exhausts are not acceptable (replacing a complete section is OK). The catalyst section is a Ford only supply item and the dealer has said that due to problems in separating the sections, the entire exhaust system system will have to be replaced at a cost of £770.
