  • Citroen C5 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
But then I cam across the sorry tales in this web page - http://www.c5-faults.com I see HJ has picked these up (well done) but it\'s disconcerting that such a trend emerges.
  • Banging noise? 8 May 2003 (Forum)
Hi Recently had some new tyres fitted to my Audi A6 and ever since when turning in either direction there is a faint banging noise. It\'s fine when driving in a straight line. Anyone know what this could potentially be? Thanks Andrew
  • Locking Wheel Nuts 22 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I have run a search on this subject, but found little info on the best available locking wheel nuts on the market. With a set of alloys and tyres costing in the region of 2 grand, - what make would B.R`s recommend as the best on the market ????
  • Primera battery 31 Oct 2001 (Forum)
One of my work-mates has a early 90's 1.6 Primera. Last night, he removed the battery to charge it, but when it was re-fitted this morning the car will not start. The engine is spinning over on the starter but will not fire, and yes there is petrol in it.
  • 65 Plate VW Golf Sportsvan 1 litre 3 cylinder TSI - Aftermarket Dual mass clutch and flywheel unit 16 Aug 2020 (Forum)

  • Citroen Relay - Van Smoking Heavily! Please help 19 May 2015 (Forum)
1- Could it be a duff injector/s overfueling? but then why the blueish tinge? The Ohms reading accross the injectors are the same, However, upon unplugging the No3 Injector (whilst the van is still misfiring) the engine tone remains unchanged.
  • Use of fogs - question replied to by Honest John 16 Jan 2013 (Forum)
When it's raining, approaching a car with its front fog lights on can dazzle you, but the effect is far worse coming up behind a car with its rear fog(s) on, even when it's dry - at worst, you can be nearly blinded, especially if your windscreen hasn't been cleaned for a while, and/or you have a heated windscreen with its fine wire element showing (until recently basically Fords, soon to be more widespread I believe).

  • Peugeot 407 (2004 - ) - 2004 2.0 HDI 136 Fuel Economy 9 Oct 2008 (Forum)
From what they said when I booked it in they think it is not that far removed from normal but the economy figures quoted everywhere are identical to the Mondeo`s, and most comparable cars in the class.
  • Driving in Argentina 20 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I had the good fortune to be sent to a week?s conference in Buenos Aires last week. I thought the back room might like to hear something of the differences in the driving experience. Despite the economic crash the ?car fleet? is pretty new and largely European in nature with a sprinkling of ancient Peugeots and Ford Falcons still on the road.
  • Labour rates top £150 per hour 19 Jun 2004 (Forum)
This is more than double the UK average labour bill of £68 for the marque, although this figure is obtained using both franchised and independent garages. Eleven manufacturers had peak charges of more than £100 an hour ? a Ford dealership in London asked for £106 an hour compared with the company?s national average of £50. In all, Warranty Direct says the number of garages around the country charging over £100 has increased threefold in the last 12 months.
  • Tyre fitting nightmare 23 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Needed to replace my two front tyres for my Ford Focus the other day. Rang around for best price to supply Pirelli P6000s (already on the car). Visited a local fitter with the cheapest quote and the tyres in stock. After being told the work was all done, and having paid for the tyres, I inspected the work to find that the fitters had severely marked one of the wheels (alloy).
  • Classics for everday use 23 Aug 2001 (Forum)
I wonder what view there are out there about the worth of beating depreciation, avoiding road tax, driving something interesting instead of a lookalike box like everboy else's, by using an old (classic) car as a daily driver. I have owned a 6 rag-top Ford Mustang V-8 for more than 20 years, originally bought in Florida. It has aircon and power everything, goes as fast as anything else on the road, stops just as quick, looks great and turns head, has a great exhaust note.
  • Tesla Model S - Tesla 9 Aug 2021 (Forum)
I recently hired a Tesla model S for a day. It was an 18th birthday treat for my daughter (and a belated one for me) Here are my thoughts, good and not so good. Good. 1.
  • Nissan S Cargo 1990 - 1990 Nissan not starting 17 Sep 2018 (Forum)
Hi everyone I have a Nissan S Cargo that won't start, it has spark and has compression so that leaves fuel. It was running when I drove it into my unit which was a couple of months ago, when I say it was running, it was stuttering when it got hot (say after an hour of driving) but once I left it for 30 minutes it would drive fine again.
  • dealing with the 'great british public' 1 Mar 2017 (Forum)
It all seemed rather strange and there was definitely something fishy going on. The moral of story is, when selling a car, forget EBay, in this regard it seems populated by m****s. Back to the drawing board on this one. But it makes me wonder just what thrill some m****s get doing this sort of activity in the evening and at weekends. The TV really must be bad if this trumps it!!

  • Skoda Octavia 1.2 TSi S - Replacing my Mondeo 1 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Comparing my old Mondeo side by side with a 2012 Octavia hatch I was suprised to find the Octavia boot a similar length and slightly wider between the wheel arches in the boot.   Thereare  a couple of 2012  Octavia 1.2tsi' S's advertised locally for 9500-10k. 10K for one  registered Sept 2012. From a Skoda dealer . 13k miles. Manual gearbox.   The 1.2TSi has better mpg and half the Excise Duty of my Mondeo but still has the same size boot..
