Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 2002 2.0 90 bhp hdi engine will not start 3 Nov 2008 (Forum)
The engine went in limp mode when low on fuel?.(did not run out just light on) refueled and drove home with the engine light on max rev 2500. day after would not start. There is a bulb to press for the fuel a couple of squeazes, she starts then immediately stops and strangely the head lights come. It is now in the peugoet workshop and diagnosed as having an air leak on the fuel filter. -
Hyundai Getz (2002 - 2008) - complete & utter incompetence 20 Oct 2007 (Forum)
(i havent looked at it) Get car back: £246 bill : 2 yr service includes oil, plugs, brake fluid, air filter ...ouch Oil has not been changed..still brown and exactly how it was when i checked it last week.Ive even saved some on some kitchen tissue brake fluid: wow they filled it to the 'brim' (to the lid!! ) way above the max mark...something tells me they didnt change it..just topped it per chance? Plugs: difficult: fine white powder deposit but look clean...would 8 miles give fine white powder/residue ? Air filter: They got that right Clutch: Still sticking. -
Computer Related Questions - Volume 113 5 Jan 2007 (Forum)
He did a test which backed up the website's claim of up to 3Mb, adding that BT are able to boost or 'max' the signal to provide a higher speed than other providers. This is news to me- anyone else heard of it? I wouldn't might switching to BT if it wasn't for the fact that Tiscali (who have been ok) do 2Mb unlimited for £15 whereas BT is £18 with limited downloads. -
Small Autos & some Clio questions 20 Nov 2006 (Forum)
My sister is looking for a small auto 5dr - somewhere between a supermini size and Focus size. Max price £4k. Cars such as the prev shape Corolla 5dr deemed too big - I think the square cornered look (eg Focus/Golf) is preferable to her for parking. Any bright ideas out there? The Focus itself is probably out of the question, as I don't think she would want anything that's high mileage - which I would imagine a £4k Focus auto would be. -

New Car Recommendation - Meriva? 16 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Today she looked at a Zafira (7 seats I know!) and then a Meriva which she really liked. She did originally want a C Max but can't get any in her price bracket. Deal will need to be via a dealer, doesn't want the hassle and risk of selling or buying privately. What other cars should she look at ? CbC breakdown for Meriva seems outdated, no real feedback yet on problems, ownership experience. -
Power steering grinding/vibration - 406 12 May 2005 (Forum)
At certain steering angles I get a vibration in the steering wheel and a sort of vibratey grindy noise from under the bonnet. Power steering fluid level is at max as it has been for some time. Some of the pipework appears slightly damp with some fluid - can't see any serious leak though. This happens whether the car is moving or not so hopefully doesn't indicate something about to fall off! -
1985/86 Nissan Micra Idle When Hot 25 Apr 2005 (Forum)
This is a 988cc engine. I noticed black water from the exhaust so I checked the oil.....2 inches above the max on the dip stick!!! I drained out 5 litres of engine oil, this engine only takes 2.8 litres with a new filter! Her grandad put in some new points but he isn't sure if they're adjusted properly.........HELP...I've never delt with points before! -
Rover 600 Cambelt & Oil loss 23 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Alarmed at it being so low I topped it up with two litres (full capacity is 3.8ltrs) which took it to halfway between the min & max. How could the oil level be so low? There has been no noticable oil leaks. The engine has sounded ok. No oil warning lights have illuminated during driving. I'm miffed. Any ideas? What is the oficial interval for changing the cambelts on this model? -

BMW 1 Series - Are BMW’s really a bad car 18 Jul 2023 (Forum)
Keep in mind that she didn’t say what make or version. I’m looking at the 118i or the 116i version made between 2013 and 2015, so are they really bad cars only a lot of websites recommend them as a decent car, there not sales sites, so was the sales guy wrong about BMW or are there certain models ? -
Jaguar XF - Is there a way of testing if DPF regen is working? 7 Jan 2023 (Forum)
Is there anyway of testing if the DPF regeneration is still working on a 2015 X250 XFS? I've just had a new battery fitted and before and after fitting the battery, the mechanic plugged in an Autel scanner and the only fault code that came up was PO52F, a permanent fault with the Glow Plug Module System. -

Hyundai Genesis - Cheap luxo barg 8 Feb 2021 (Forum)
In the near future I'm thinking of getting myself a luxo barge up to £20k. I was looking at the Hyundai Genesis 2015 19000 mike's on the clock all the luxuries one could want. Only thing putting me off is rearity and the 3.8 V6. I would consider a log conversation. But another part of me thinks get something like a Skoda superb or Peugeot 508 estate. -

Mini One - Buying Approved Used Car 3 Jul 2020 (Forum)
one thing that I’m a bit concerned about is the MOT. when I check the government website to check last MOT, it says that the MOT expired in 26 July 2019 and that the last MOT was done in July 2018. The car is a 2015 model. I asked the dealer about this this and he says that once he acquired the car, the MOT gets cancelled and this is why it shows up this way. He advised that the car has been in their possession for only a week. -
