• Ford Focus - ford focus cutting out 14 Dec 2010 (Forum)
  we bought a ford focus tdi on a v plate. it keeps randomley cutting out which can be very danerous. it starts straight away every time. the garage we bought it from took it back and replaced crankshaft sensor ( diagnostic machine read problems with crankshaft and fuel pump). got car back and still kept cutting out. they are now saying the ecu has gone. could the ecu relate to  the readings on the diagnostic machine. anyone know ?

  I have a Ford Mondeo manufactured in March 2009. I purchased it from a Ford garage in August 2009 and it was given a service at that time. A new service is now required (mileage is 17000 miles) but two Ford garages have told me that an interim service is required, one a full service and one 'in between' which apparently includes fitting a new pollen filter.

  my 2000 1.8td ford focus has started reving high. It doesnt do it all the time and not when its cold, it can be driven with out using the accelarator and when the clutch is dipped the revs go higher then drop back down.

  My daughter has a 08 ka that is coming up to a year old with 4500 miles. According to the ford service schedule the only thing they actually do is change the oil and oil filter. I would like to do this myself and save the service expense this first year. Can I just keep the receipts for oil and oil filter and sign the book myself or would this invalidate the warranty........

  The manual seems to recommend the same oil for both engine types irrespective of them being diesel or petrol and recommends SAE 5w 30. I always thought that petrol and diesels needed different types of oil? Is this just a Ford thing? Many thanks Pootle

  The Transit Van I have at work has the above standard Ford Radio in it. Looking to fit a Parrot Handsfree to it, probably the CK3000. Has anyone fitted one before and is it plug and go or does it need adaptors? I know Halfords supply and fit For £99 but these are available on ebay for about £60 and I would fit myself if not a lot of hassle?

  I am inclined towards approved used cars but they might not be available, especially Ford Focus Active. Some Ford dealers have many used Ford cars but not all of them are approved by Ford despite being in very good conditions according to sellers. One silly question is that why those cars are not approved by Ford.

  Over the past year there have been several hundred requests for radio codes - it seems that 95%+ are for Fords - predominantly Fiesta or Focus. Is there a particular issue with Ford motorists, that doesn't affect drivers of Vauxhalls / VWs / Toyotas etc. that they don't make a note of the radio code and pass it on to the new owner when selling the car?
