  Hi guys i am new to the forum and would like some advice. I own a 2005 mondeo zetec s 2.0 tdci hatch which i bought from new. The car has done 56000 miles from new and has been fully maintained by my local ford dealer. A week ago last monday (20th) i started her up after doing a 30 mile motorway run and then i was in a meeting for an hour, so she was still relatively warm and she was spluttering at around 500 rpm,couldnt rev it, smokin very very lump, smelt of diesel, so very quickly turned her off.

  The water pump had to be replaced at 83000 miles after becoming very noisy. As this runs off the timing belt that was replaced too. So Ford claims to get long life from the timing belt on the ecoboost engine but if the water pump fails then not much benefit from a long lived timing belt!

  HI I have a Ford mondeo 53 plate 2.0 TDCI 6 speed 130bhp, I have just had the flying wheel and clutch repaired. The turbo does not kick in anymore!! it doesnt fly like it used to!! its a normal diesel engine now!!

  In the Awards 2012 edition of What Car, they include an article on the new Mondeo. Although Ford haven't confirmed that their three cylinder one litre Ecoboost 123bhp engine will be going into the Mondeo, thay did confirm it is being tested in larger cars. What Car think that it is a foregone conclusion that engine will replace the current 1.6 litre 118bhp engine.
