Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - S-reg diesel - Getting harder to engage 2nd gear 12 Nov 2007 (Forum)
The bite point of the clutch has not moved and footpedal action feels 100% normal - even on a 'stiff' gearchange. I had a garage change the gearbox oil 3000 miles ago as a routine service. Any ideas please. Thank you, Vinnie. -

Vauxhall Meriva 1.4 petrol - Misfiring engine 20 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Hi my daughters car has suddenly started showing the engine management light and I have checked with a handheld diagnostic tool and it is showing as misfiring on cylinders 1 & 4. I have changed the ignition coil which made no difference but when I checked the plugs the ones from 1 & 4 have a little oil on them (2 & 3 are ok). What could be the main cause of this problem? Thanks -
Vauxhall Zafira A - Head gasket failure??? 12 Jan 2019 (Forum)
After this the car still started to lose water. The guy that replaced the hose 'knocked' out the thermostat and also change the water pump but I am still losing water! There is no 'gunk' in oil filler or dipstick. Could this be a head gasket issue or something else less serious? By the way it's a 2.0dti. Any ideas anyone? -
Kia venga 2 1.4 petrol manual - 18 months on - old 6 Jun 2018 (Forum)
So, 18 months on, and 10,000 miles on, still very satisfied with the venga. Routine servicing with annual oil changes so far and no problems except for one weeping shock absorber, no doubt down to the state of our roads. Fuel consumption mostly around here about 35 is, 40 on a "run". we'll see how it cope with a trip to holland and belgium next week. -
VAG 1.2tsi - Liquid gaskets 17 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Im having a timing chain changed today, I believe this involves removing covers including the sump, all of which are sealed with a liquid gasket paste. Question: When they apply the gasket goo and refit he sump/covers, is any curing time required before filling the engine with oil and running? -
Redex, Yay or Nay? 23 Dec 2016 (Forum)
I was wondering what the general view is of Redex additive? My diesel Citroen ZX rolled over 250k a month ago and apart from doubling the frequency of oil changes I've always chucked in some Redex on a regular basis, a habit inherited from my father who loved the stuff. I wonder if its contributed to the Citroens trouble free engine life or have I wasted my money? -
Peugeot 207 - Water pumping from engine block 18 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Hi, Been slowly losing water/coolant from the car for a short while. Engine heat gage doesn't change. No mayo under the oil cap. A closer look, and i see water pumping out of the right side of the front of the engine block when the engine is running. Can't see if it's from the gasket but does look lower than that. -
Peugeot 307 SW - Wet Passenger footwell 28 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I hoovered out today and it's still wet, when I ribbed my hand on it the liquid was not water and looked like a fine oil. The brakes have been changed recently, but after the first time I noticed it was wet. Any ideas? -

Mazda MX-5 - 48000 mile / 4 Year service 17 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Opinion/advice please on whether my MX-5 - 4 years old in May and with 16700 miles from new - REALLY needs a 48000 mile service - incuding replacement of brake fluid and rear diff oil change this year ? It has had Mazda main dealer service in accordance with manufacturer schedule thus far - including 37500 service a year ago when it had 11000 on the clock. -

Rover 400 (1995 - 1999) - 420 diesel - Head gasket? 3 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I think my HG has gone on my 420 diesel. Water is disappearing at an alarming rate, even when the car isnt moving and gettin the mayo in oil filler cap. Temp is steady but Ive heard that it depends on where it goes as to whether it overheats as per the gauge? Can anyone tell me how long the change takes and roughly how much it should cost? -

mercedes endurance record 26 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Considering time for new drivers and fuel it must have been going faster. Would they have bothered changing the oil? Wonder if, when and which make will be the first to do 1 million non-stop. -

Hard to start without priming - Fiesta. 12 May 2004 (Forum)
Fiesta 1.8 LX diesel. I just changed the hand fuel pump, primer pump. The car is quite hard to start after an overnight wait unless i prime the pump a few times then start no problem. Its like low fuel pressure which would indicate a leak somewhere but the bolts were all tighened properly all seals were oiled and added so i cant see where the problem might be ? -
