  My problem is that my particle filter/catalyst is now full of soot, I think this could be related to the failure of valve previously mentioned. Nissan obviously think otherwise and states that this is wear and tare and they want to replace it at a cost of £500. Obviously I want it replaced under warranty. I now want to take this further with Nissan but I need confirmation that my analysis of the problem is correct.

  2007 Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCI For the longest time the wifes 2007 Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCI has been going through alot of oil. Needs filled up at the very least once a month.   I have a 3 1/2yr old Nissan Qashqai (25K miles) which has suffered the known knocking problem on and off since new, first experienced at 6K miles. 1st set was replaced under Manufacturers warranty and the second set failed within 6K miles of fitting.

  My mate at work bought a brand new x trail in 2006. He has done 16,000 miles only. He took it to the nissan dealer he bought it from after he suspected something was a miss. They told him the front discs are warped. Like him i can't believe this on such a new car. He has been in touch with nissan but i don't think he has got any satisfaction of them as yet.

  My friend has bought in October, a 53 plate Nissan Almera 18. SE from a Main Dealer in Doncaster, it had 38 K on the clkock and one previous owner. It seemed fine but yesterday It has broken down. I seem to remember that main dealers have to guarantee their cars for a period of time, under the sale of goods act.

  I have been searching through AutoTrader for a few months now for the newer shape model of Nissan Maxima QX 3.0 SE+ to replace my 1995 Nissan QX 3.0 SE. There is not a single car on sale in the last four months!! Am I looking at the wrong place for this particular car? I am looking for a cheap, reliable, large saloon with folding rear seats, 3.0L engine with auto box with 100k on the clock and must have LSD and switchable Traction Control - for Road Rally use.
