• Old car: (Nissan Micra) 20k oil changes? 9 Mar 2005 (Forum)
  N reg Nissan Micra (K11 type) mileage: 69k I used to change oil filter on this car every 10k or 12 months, usually at MOT time. But I have changed jobs and now drive about 22k per annum. Just for arguments sake, would extending the oil filter change period to 20k damage the engine on a car this old?

  Hello everyone, my sister has a Nissan Micra 1.3LX, from 1994, and it judders whilst pulling away from a junction. When we had a diagnostic check done on the car, we have been told the problem is the air flow meter, but a different garage did a diagnostic check and said it was the throttle body, please could someone help, as we cant keep paying £35 for diagnostic checks.

  I\'m after a Nissan 200 (the S14a model with the squarer headlamps). I\'ve found one that seems to be in good nick, but it\'s done 85,000 miles, albeit with a full main dealer service history. Has anyone had any experience of high mileage 200s Other than that, it\'s a mint-ish Touring model with a manual \'box priced at £5.5k, which seems to be good money Any help greatfully received!

I edited this note and substituted a pointer to the BBC article rather than the quoted text. I realise that it wasn\'t quite the BBC report that was quoted, but its the closest I coudl find quickly.
• New Nissan Micra brake problem 3 Sep 2003 (Forum)
  Intermittantly the brake lights remain on and she suspects the brakes are actually being applied as well. (I haven't driven it myself so I can't confirm this though) Nissan have looked at it but because of the nature of the problem it wasn't doing it whilst testing and nothing showed up on their Consult system. Anyone else come across this? Thanks in advance Paul

  Nissan dealers are now charging £25+VAT just to find price and delivery for parts for Jap imports. So if you've got one of these, do as I did, and give them a list of 10 (max) items to get your money's worth, even if you don't want the other items!

  The rust results in MOT failure and cost £208 to replace the part, most of it going on taking off other bits and putting them back on. The part itself was only about £55. Any point in asking Nissan to contribute?

  The dealership has had the car longer than I have now and Nissan UK are next to useless so far. If you want a QQ stick with the 1.6diesel that doesn't have this fitted (presently) or move to petrol / different manufacturer until Nissan can sort the the issues with the revised 1.5DCI engine with Adblue fitted  This is our 3rd diesel QQ, all have been brilliant and ultra reliable....until this one with the Adblue fitted.!

  Hi Just need some reassurance but 2 days ago I bought a Nissan Quashai Acenta 1.6 from a Nissan dealer  a Cared4 used car. Very happy with car BUT I paid £10,000 with 60,000 on clock (asked nicely for a discount but got a couple of extras instead they would not budge on price an extra years warranty and some tax.

  Our Nissan Almera 2.2d won't start, although the remote key will open the doors and let us in. The local Nissan dealer said the ECU (of which the immobiliser is part) had failed –replacement £650.

  I know the front crossmember is prone to rust so will check that out. Also is the Micra fussy about oil filters ...should I buy genuine Nissan or will spurious do? All advice greatly appreciated and taken aboard!

  Nissan insist they are not liable and will not even offer a discount to do this work. Any advice? ps: The car is still driveable on very short journeys (kids to school etc)and seems to behave itself temperature wise, but am I risking an engine seizure?
