    Have reordered another just in case the wrong part was in the box but if the new one is still too small,  does anyone know if the parts from other Nissan model's would fit? Such as an Almera maybe?  My mechanic is fitting it for me but can't supply the parts I need to source it myself, Nissan spares depts are now closed until Monday but I really really need the car back on the road,  I'm using a 7.5 ton horsebox as a run around and its costing me a fortune!

  I like the Nissan Xtrail as it would suit my needs with a growing family and being over 6ft. Are there any other cars that have this Active DPF technology as I cant seen to find anything on the web other than what Active DPF tech is?

  I'm informed via my Nissan technician friend Nissan are considering stopping the sale of the Pulsar in the UK. Sales have not been great (the car is not great!), the medium size hatchback market is too competitive, partner Renault have a new Megane out and the other reason (and probably main one considering the poor sales) there is a far bigger mark up for the company on sales of the new Micra which they hope can attract a more varied range of buyers (wishful thinking).

  Hello all... Further to previous post: while wife was on motorway last week with brand new Nissan Note xe with just 230km on clock, all warning lights came on. Pulled over and then went to off ramp where car juddered before she stopped. Nissan informs us that fan belt had come off pulley it runs on because one of the bolts that holds an idler pulley in place sheared off, resulting in fan belt coming off pulley.

  WHEN I SPOT THE ANNOUNCEMENT IS ON ON MY RADIO SCREEN I HAVE MISSED MOST OF IT. AFTER PROTRACTED DISCUSSION WITH MY DEALER NISSAN AGREED TO CHANGE THE UNIT TO NO AVAIL. NISSAN NOW SAYS THAT THERE IS NO FAULT AND I AM THEREFORE STUCK WITH IT.IF I HAVE THE RADIO VOLUME TURNED UP THEN THE ANNOUNCEMENT VOLUME INCREASES AS WELL. (BY CONTRAST I HAVE A 54 FOCUS AND HAD A 58 MONDEO WHERE THE VOLUME COULD BE SET).

  I am aware that manufacturers obviously install better quality radios with higher speced models but the SE with Nissan does not appear to have a very good radio. I also found a similar problem with a Tino Se that I owned. I would prefer to avoid Nissan dealers and the assosiated cost... Thank you   CGH

• Nissan Primera III (1999 - 2002) - Starter motor problems. 24 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  I have a 2000 year Primera which needs a new starter motor. The Nissan main dealer has quoted me ~£400 to replace, and this seems somewhat excessive. I have looked on the internet and seen that I could buy a replacement part for about £80. Assuming this is new, should I be worried about the fact that it is not a genuine Nissan part?

• Nissan Almera (2000 - 2006) - 2000 1.5 cost of alternator belt tensioner? 20 May 2009 (Forum)
  Just had my car in for an interim service at a trusted independent garage the alternator belt and the power steering belts were changed as there seemed to be a bit of a squealing noise coming out from that area it turns out the alternator tensioner has been diagnosed as the cause of the original noise . However local nissan main dealer dont keep them as a stock item and want £107 for the part including vat . Are alternator belt tensioners normally this expensive ? I was expecting something like £50 or £60! From past experience I know Nissan can be naughty on the price of certain parts.

  My nissan almera tino 2005 plate went up in flames last week ........total burn out sitting at my door....... firemen said faulty wiring 100% ............ i had this car from new ......... whats got me is i could have had my grandchildren in the car ......... i cant sleep some nights thinking about it..... nissan warranty ran out 2 days before this ............ has anyone heard of this happening to anyone even with a different make of car ........firemen said it was common i have never heard of this .......... it had been 7hrs since i was in the car .......

  No Nissan Dealer in Falkirk (closed few years back) so phone around for 1st service within say 20 miles. How much for 1st Service? Privately Owned Franchise ( 5 outlets/several franchises) £217 Privately Owned Franchise (single outlet) £167 Large Chain (100s outlets and multiple franchises) £178 Med Chain (multiple franchises) £146 10 minutes on the phone and there is£61 between bottom and top price and all give the Nissan Stamp in the book.

  They tell me they are hoping for goodwill from Nissan's warranty department. Goodwill??!! The warranty was still valid when they were notified of the problem. Surely it should be an open and shut case. ...or am I missing something? H

  I was reading the threads about Honda Jazz versus Nissan Note as I though the Note would be good for my parents. My mother has decided she does not like the view out of the Honda windscreen(!). Today I wandered into a local Nissan dealer to look at the Note.

  i got my new nissan note today and had asked the dealer to fit a towbar on it. when i collected it i was told that a towbar couldnt be fitted as nissan had withdrawn their towbar from sale because of design faults. i phoned several towbar fitters and they all said they dont know what towbar will fit as its a new car. surely as this car has been around for 3 months now and a part must have been fitted before.

  The missus has just bought a new car. Its a Nissan Almera 1.5 SE, registered march 2002 on the 02 plate in dark burgundy metallic. Spec is as follows: Electric windows, central locking, air con, PAS, Alloy wheels, CD player, 2 1/2 years nissan warranty remaining.
