Peugeot 207 - Water pumping from engine block 18 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Hi, Been slowly losing water/coolant from the car for a short while. Engine heat gage doesn't change. No mayo under the oil cap. A closer look, and i see water pumping out of the right side of the front of the engine block when the engine is running. Can't see if it's from the gasket but does look lower than that. -
Peugeot 307 SW - Wet Passenger footwell 28 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I hoovered out today and it's still wet, when I ribbed my hand on it the liquid was not water and looked like a fine oil. The brakes have been changed recently, but after the first time I noticed it was wet. Any ideas? -

Mazda MX-5 - 48000 mile / 4 Year service 17 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Opinion/advice please on whether my MX-5 - 4 years old in May and with 16700 miles from new - REALLY needs a 48000 mile service - incuding replacement of brake fluid and rear diff oil change this year ? It has had Mazda main dealer service in accordance with manufacturer schedule thus far - including 37500 service a year ago when it had 11000 on the clock. -

Has anyone else had this problem on a Jag or Mondeo - I guess they are the same gearbox. Also what is the solution? Can the oil be changed on these or are they sealed units? thanks {teleported across to technical matters} -
Rover 400 (1995 - 1999) - 420 diesel - Head gasket? 3 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I think my HG has gone on my 420 diesel. Water is disappearing at an alarming rate, even when the car isnt moving and gettin the mayo in oil filler cap. Temp is steady but Ive heard that it depends on where it goes as to whether it overheats as per the gauge? Can anyone tell me how long the change takes and roughly how much it should cost? -
Renault kangoo cabin filter 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Problem is that I can't find the filter and don't want to visit the main dealer until I need to at 18000mls ( I change the oil and filter myself at 6000 ) . I can find the engine air filter which I imagine will also be full of dust but can anybody help with the cabin filter ? -
mercedes endurance record 26 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Considering time for new drivers and fuel it must have been going faster. Would they have bothered changing the oil? Wonder if, when and which make will be the first to do 1 million non-stop. -

Hard to start without priming - Fiesta. 12 May 2004 (Forum)
Fiesta 1.8 LX diesel. I just changed the hand fuel pump, primer pump. The car is quite hard to start after an overnight wait unless i prime the pump a few times then start no problem. Its like low fuel pressure which would indicate a leak somewhere but the bolts were all tighened properly all seals were oiled and added so i cant see where the problem might be ? -

clattery Golf mk2 23 Nov 2002 (Forum)
I've got an 89f mk2 Golf GTi with 106k miles which for 2 years has been totally reliable. It's due a service & cam belt change, but has recently started to sound "clattery", as if the camshaft was worn. Thing is it only does it intermittently, especially when cold or idling - tho' not always. The oil level is fine & it doesn't burn or use any. -
JAG XJS AUTO GEARBOX PROBLEM 16 Jan 2002 (Forum)
GOT A 93 XJS WITH 31,00O MILES ON THE CLOCK. PROBLEM IS WHEN I SET OFF IN THE MORNING GEARS CHANGE UP 1ST, 2ND, 3RD, OK - THEN IT GOES TO 2ND AND RARELY GOES UP AGAIN, 5 MILES TO WORK, PARK UP. AFTERNOON START UP DRIVES PERFECT THRU THE GEARS NO PROBLEMS. ANY IDEAS? GEARBOX OIL IS CLEAR AS A CLEAR THING, FILTERS PERFECT. -
Noisy Tappets 9 Nov 2001 (Forum)
The noise disappears when the temperature needle is at 12 o'clock, but it seems to take far too long to quieten down. The car is a 1.3 Polo that has had 5000 mile/6 month semi-synth oil changes for the last 50k. I don't mind living with it if it's harmless, but will a persistently noisy tappet do any damage? Nissan X-Trail (2001 - 2007) - 04 2.2dci oil leak 17 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I have an oil leak underneath the engine i would say it leaks about half a dozen drops or something like that each night on my drive its in line with the oil sump plug or there abouts its been like it for months but i only noticed when the patch built up on my drive.I took it to my local garage who checked the vehicle over & decided to replace various gaskets as it was not coming from the sump plug nor the filter they didn'nt really know where but assumed the changing of gaskets may solve the problem me not knowing an awful lot about what goes on underneath the bonnet agreed to this. -

SEAT Alhambra 1.9 2001 - Time to Change 13 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Mileage covered is now only around 8 - 10K per annum l have a budget of between 6 - 8K (perhaps a little more for the right vehicle) Personally, l would like an X5 3 litre diesal, though would not pay £520 road tax after a 55 plate & l know running costs are high. l'm also aware of the swirl flaps issue & the debate over changing gear box oil. The other alternative l like is the Honda CR-V 2.2, though again l have heard of problems with gear change/flywheels etc. Lastly, can l make a case for an estate? -
