Peugeot 108 - Axle Stands 26 Jul 2020 (Forum)
I would like to change the oil on my daughter's car. It is a Peugeot 108. If I jack the car up at the jacking up points (pinch weld just behind the front wheel), there is not enough space to put the axle stand to provide extra support. -
Honda jazz, 2004 - Jazz slips when driving at 1.5 and 2.5 rpm 10 Oct 2013 (Forum)
It only happens when the car is warmed up and when it is driving around 2 to 2.5 rpms, and usually around 20, 30 and 40 mph, never above 50mph. I have flushed the transmission fluid and changed the engine oil, I am not sure what to do next, please advise.Mitsubishi Shogun (2007 - ) - Considering.... 24 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hi I have run and towed a 'van with a 1997 2800 TD Automatic. It has NEVER let us down. Costs have been for routine servicing (by myself) and oil/filter changes every 3000 m. Mileage is 125000. However, she's a bit dated now, no airbags/ABS and other "essential" extras. I am searching for up to date honest opinions on the new Shogun - 2007 3.2 TD Automatic.Nissan - Interstar Van 04 2.4 clutch slave cylinder leaking 25 Mar 2009 (Forum)

Just had the strangest conversation with National Tyre Service while trying to book my 325D for an oil change. In the end they told me I would be ?better off? taking it to BMW because their work would invalidate the warranty through the use of non standard parts. It was not what I expected to hear.Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 01 1.6 Little square sponge under air filter 29 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi All, Just thought I'd ask about this sponge, I beleive its called a PCV filter? When I changed the air filter, I pulled it out, it was a bit dirty (looks like oil stain). I put back in as I didnt have anything of that sort with the replacement filter. Can I wash this with some washing up liquid, dry it and put it back in?Volkswagen Polo III (1994 - 1999) - 1996 1.0 - whats it worth? 20 Dec 2007 (Forum)

I've just just changed my oil, and the sump plug had a copper washer, quite surprising I thought for a four-year-old car. It was quite badly mangled. I managed to beat it reasonably flat, and anneal it, and it seems to be holding.Invoice paranoia - Honda i-CTDi 9 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I'm expecting them to come back and say that the invoice is wrong, but should I demand that they change the oil again for the correct stuff in any case, as otherwise I'll never be sure they've used the right stuff? Your thoughts please people.Mitsu Colt-Leaking brake pipe...options? 29 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, Noticed when my car was up on lift at National having an oil change (its a 1993 Mitsu Colt), that one of the metal brake pipes near the rear offside wheel is leaking slowly. I have been needing to top up every few days lately, but thought it would be a leaking brake cylinder!Mondeo PAS fluid leak? 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Could someone tell me, please, if PAS fluid is oil based as it looks as though there's a leak to investigate? Cheers WainoRenault 1.5 dCi engine 11 Jun 2005 (Forum)
When I bought mine I was averaging 49mpg, it was quite an event getting it to 50mpg. Now after almost 12000 miles and an oil change, it is averaging 56mpg. I have done the brim to brim checks and it equates accurately with the digital display. My driving style and journeys are the same and I use the same brands of diesel.Pug 206 Diesel engine tick 9 Oct 2003 (Forum)
The noise only appers when I am cruising at 65-upwards and not when I am stationery; I wouldn't go as far as to say it is loud but it is noticeable with the radio off. The car only has 18,500 on the clock and is due a service, aswell as an oil change(6,000 miles ago). Could that be the reason..? The noise is certainly new with no apparent loss of power? Any comments greatly welcome. CheersDiesel starting (White Smoke) 6 May 2003 (Forum)
Hi, My vehicle is a 1998 Motorcaravan based on a Fiat Ducato 1.9td (i think it is a Peugeot engine) The problem started Just recently and appears to be getting worse, when starting from cold, although it starts easily it runs rough for about 30 seconds with white smoke from the exhaust. after this it runs perfectly.(passed the MOT smoke test yesterday at a reading of 1.21) The fuel and air filters have been Changed (after the problem first appeared),also oil and filter,it has a low mileage (13000mls) Any suggestions much appreciated.put car in my garage or not? 16 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I was impressed by the recent article in the Telegraph about the 2 million mile Volvo, and while there was lots of advice on how to achieve this mileage, regular oil changes, quality petrol, etc. there was nothing on whether it is was a good idea to keep a car garaged. One would think that leaving a wet car inside is not a good idea, but does any one have the experience to say keeping a car in the open is worse that putting it away.Mondeo Screenwashers 24 Dec 2001 (Forum)
I learned this after being quoted £35 last February to have the screenwasher pump filter cleaned, then last summer being told they'd done it for nothing during a £40 oil change. HJ20k sevice intervals 7 Aug 2001 (Forum)
The car has 20k service intervals which means in the four years she will have it, it will be serviced TWICE, excluding the follow up at 1k or thereabouts. As it's a co. car none of this 5k oil changes etc. etc. How good a buy will it really be for a punter when the lease co. gets rid of it? Will there be thousands of knackered low mileage ex fleet cars out there in the not too distant future, which will surely devalue everybody else's pride and joy that has had a little TLC.New car warrantys 1 Apr 2001 (Forum)
That is a lot of money taking into account that the first 2 of 3 services are very little more than oil changes plus checks which could easily be done by myself. The 3rd service includes checking and setting up the valve timing which I could maybe give to them to do as I believe it has to be set up correctly as it has variable valve timing.Old Habits die hard 1 Apr 2002 (Forum)
There was an interesting thread a couple of months ago wondering if we worry unduly about frequency of oil changes, type of oil, running in etc. ? a subject that is still aired frequently in the Backroom. The consensus of opinion was that following the manufacturer?s service schedule was sufficient. Modern engines are inherently reliable and rarely gave trouble even with huge mileages.Citroen c5 HDi VTR+Nav Saloon 2010 plate - Could you tell me who is at fault here please? 18 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Confused at that, I phoned my local independent Citroen garage, who told me it was a known fault with the oil filter...it needs to be 'lined up' correctly or problems occur and the main dealer would sort it. Two days later I collected the car. Dealer had changed the oil and filter and told me that had fixed the light and it was ok to drive.
