Collision warning and brake support system with adaptive cruise control.
Electronically controlled electric parking brake.
Advanced braking system with FBS (Fading Brake Support), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), RAB (Ready Alert Brakes), OHB (Optimised Hydraulic Brakes).
Dynamic Stability and Traction Control.
Six-speed manual transmission for 2.5T petrol and 2.4D and D5 turbodiesel engines, with six-speed Geartronic transmission available.
Six-speed Geartronic transmission standard on 3.2 and V8 engine models.
Geartronic automatic transmission adapts its shift patterns to suit individual driving styles and includes a sequential, manual-shift facility for added control.
Speed dependent power steering optional, providing extra power assistance at low speeds to make parking easier. The power assistance gradually declines as road speed increases, disappearing entirely at high cruising speeds. Steering assistance can be set at one of three levels via the car’s information and set-up system
FBS (Fading Brake Support) – uses hydraulics to gradually build up braking pressure during constant braking to help reduce the risk of wear and retained pedal feeling.
HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) it updates Volvo's EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) by using hydraulics to increase braking pressure when the driver brakes hard.
RAB (Ready Alert Brakes) can predict if the accelerator is released quickly or if the adaptive cruise control registers an obstacle in front of the car and places the brake pads against the brake discs even before the driver hits the brake pedal.
OHB (Optimised Hydraulic Brakes) reinforces the braking capacity in conjunction with hard braking to compensate for low vacuum pressure in the brake servo.
