Overall reliability

Reliable, well equipped 5 door / 5 seat city car that isn't that popular.

Criteria for the car was a cheap to insure, cheap to tax, 5 door, 5 seat car with A/C. Subaru Justy was about the only car that ticked all the boxes. Japanese reliability and a prestige badge to boot. When people ask me what car I own I tell them a Scooby and show them the keyring. When the see the car that's another matter. Certainly more a Daihatsu than a world beating rally car. Space in the car is great, even in the back. Drive is OK. Quick up to 30mph and that's about it. Bit disappointed with fuel econmy which sits arounf 45mpg around town. Engine loud, but it's a Scooby after all. Long journeys OK and the economy shots up to mid 50's. Comfortable enough, but the engine noise does start to annoy after prolonged motorway journeys. Car is definately more suited to the urban grind, than belting down motorways. Daughter learnt to drive in it. Passed her test in it, and loved it. Used to brag at college that she learnt to drive and pass her test in a Subaru. Sales through the MOT annually. Done 20K in three years. Only replacement parts were a couple of rear wheel bearings. I always get bored of cars, but just don't know what to replace it with, so I think it's going to be with me a bit longer.
