Overall reliability

Excellent in every respect.

This is my third 5 series tourer and my second 530d. I average 45.6mpg on a mix of town, Rural roads and motorway driving. The car accelerates effortlessly, even in Eco mode, and the torque is excellent. The only issues are the leg room in the rear seats for tall passengers, not helped by my 6’3” frame, and the tendency for front tyre wear on the edges. This can be reduced by increasing tyre pressure slightly.

Overall, the best car that I have owned.
