I'd buy it!

I've been driving this car for four years, and overall I've had a really pleasant experience.
The car is comfy, spacious, cheap to run (on average I get 55mpg+), and fun to drive!

The main issues I've had are:
1) a faulty 'head unit' - ie. the screen in the middle of the car which shows the Sat Nav/Radio.
About one week after the 3year warranty expired, the screen would continually restart - rendering it completely unusable.
BMW looked into this, and found the system to be faulty... resulting in a bill of £1100 to replace. (thankfully, it is a company car!)
And sadly, this fault has appeared in at least 4 other vehicles I know of of the same version... so I think there must be a known electrical problem!

2) a faulty horn - contacts within the steering wheel detached from the sensor.
Cost about £200 to fix. ('About' because BMW 'helpfully' recognised £600 of other repairs they could make to my car whilst it was at the garage.. including new brake pads and fog lights.. (and my car was serviced with them less than 4 weeks before...)

So in short. I haven't had that many issues. (Although I've had my car keyed multiple times, and tyres slashed... which given I live in a nice area and park in safe places.. is disappointing... but this is a general warning to anyone buying a nice car really, rather than something against this BMW!) But. BMW are definitely in it for the money (no surprise), and their customer service is generally poor. (I've booked services/MOT's online, received text confirmations, turned up, and had no appointment booked! And they literally do nothing quickly... 'all about quality'.. supposedly.)

But in short. I'd definitely look to buy the car for myself at the end of my company car agreement... and hopefully rarely have to visit the garages!
