One of the best cars I've owned

The Audi A1 isn't perfect, but is still one of the best cars I've owned, and is a pleasure to drive whether around the city or on longer motorway journeys. The virtual cockpit is excellent, as is the in-built navigation system (an option if you choose the technology pack). There are physical dials for the climate control, which is a major plus point in my opinion, The steering wheel feels robust and good quality, and the seats are comfortable.

Downsides? The S Tronic gearbox has a lag that can make pulling away from junctions frustrating, and there can be a fair bit of road noise in the cabin at higher speeds, though this does vary considerably depending on road surface.

Overall though, I think it's a great package. Having driven a rival Mini hatch and a Fiesta in top spec Vignale trim, I don't regret choosing the Audi at all.
