An SUV for people who love driving

I am a long time Alfa fan so almost certainly biased having owned 13 of them.

The much discussed inferior interior has been improved. The leather trimmed dashboard, the improved screens and the cheap feeling plastic gear knob now being leather bound brings it in line with the much vaunted German offerings imo.

The quick steering is a joy but the brake feel is a let down. They work fine but you do have to push more than you’d expect and don’t inspire confidence.

The build quality is a big step up from previous Alfas I have owned.

The looks are best in class.

Gear change is seamless and although I have the aluminium paddles I seldom use them

The performance is stunning for a 2 litre turbo charged SUV.

Road holding is confidence inspiring but the stiff suspension is jiggly on the pot hole rough roads we have in SE England

I have no problem with the engine/exhaust note but many seem to think it sounds too artificial. Certainly doesn’t have the rasp of Twin Sparks and V6s of previous Alfas but is no worse than most comparable cars

I am a big fan of the Stelvio
