Great Car

The reason I bought the Alfa it was so much cheaper then anything else in the same class

The only problem I had with this car is that the cig lighter stopped working last year and so i could not power my sat nav or charge my phone, but beyond that the car has been ultra reliable. It has no rattles, everything works as it should and nothing has come off. Windows open and shut without sticking, doors shut nicely and firmly, all the interior lights come on, all the gages and warning lights work fine. Ok the onboard computer is not accurate any more

For a 1.7 it is incredibly fast, it handles superbly with little body role and no fading of the steering. Overtaking is usually a breeze. No signs of rust or paintwork fade anywhere

Honest John says they use a lot of oil. Mine uses about a litre every 6,000 or so

Negatives, I wish the rear seat would fold and I hate the radio/CD player, it seems to have a mind of its own. I keep meaning to buy a new one but have not got round to it yet. Oh and for a 1.7 it is rather thirsty around town, 23ish and I do not push it hard, on the open road 38 or so, country roads return around 32

Why does it wear a 1.8 badge is beyond me as it produces 1748CC making it a 1.7

Would I buy another Alfa, like a shot. Plans are on the horizon for a Spider
