Published 09 September 2019

In the Kona Electric, Hyundai has made a spacious, refined and rapid zero emissions runabout with a staggering battery range. Sadly the price tag is staggering too.

Totally silly money. Will come down soon as nww VW e car (not the one mentioned in the Video) will undercut by around £7-8k.

All electric cars are very expensive compared with similar sized and featured IC engined cars. The difference in price will buy oceans of petrol/ diesel. So much so, I don't see the logic in buying an electric car. If you think you are saving the planet, forget it. 70% of our power generation comes from fossil fuels. And the range is still less than an IC engined car. I'm also concerned that the battery life will be significantly less than the life of an IC engine, so this fact limits the ability to hang-on to a car.

NikeNike, so fine to poison the world as long as you save a bit of money. Guess you don't have children.

Ok to travel round the world on holiday and not use public transport so long as you make the World safe for your children by buying an electric car?

You think, and when have VW ever undercut a Korean Maker?

When all our power is generated using renewables, then the electric car might make sense.

At the moment hybrids are the way to go.

Life of the planet will end one day whatever car you drive. In fifty years time scientists will have come up with some other hypothesis that changes everything you imagined was true. I have lived through a number so believe none. Just use you car in a sensible way whilst on the earth and waste nothing. The ability to travel is a precious commodity that we want to be used by all, not just teh super rich as in the past . Politicians travel first class you know by aeroplane.

Overpriced like all cars these days. I'm just pleased the PCP bubble car economy is coming to an end.
