SsangYong launches new Korando pickup

SsangYong has launched a new pick up truck, the Korando Sport. The four-wheel drive double-cab truck goes on sale in October and although prices haven't yet been announced, they are expected to be similar to the standard Korando, which starts at £16,995.

The styling isn’t exactly the same as the Korando, with more angular headlights and bolder lines. In the cabin there’s space for five adults, with reclining rear seats to add an extra comfort touch. There are two models in the range and the top-spec EX gets plenty of toys including leather, parking sensors and heated seats. All cars are manual as standard but a six-speed automatic is offered as an option.

The load area is flat and 2.04m2 plus it comes with a deck liner and anchor points for securing heavy or awkward loads. A rigid top is offered as an option and it locks with the central locking to keep things secure. The Korando Sports is built on top of a separate chassis designed for off-roading and the standard active roll-over protection and hill start assist will help with tricky conditions, along with traction control.

As with all SsangYongs, the Korando Sport comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty which covers almost everything, including wheel bearings, suspension joints, bushes, shock absorbers and even audio gear. Only wearable items like the clutch and brakes are excluded but are covered up to 12,000 miles.
