Paris Motor Show 2014: Infiniti reveals facelifted Q70

Published 02 October 2014

Infiniti has unveiled the facelifted Q70 at the Paris Motor Show. The updated Infiniti Q70 will reach the UK in December 2014 and be offered with diesel or hybrid powertrains.

The exterior of the Q70 looks strikingly similar to the Infiniti Q50, with aggressive, chiselled bumpers and LED signature headlights. The rear of the car is also more angular, with sharper lines and LED taillights. The updated Q70 also gets 18-inch wheels as standard.

The Q70 will be offered with a hybrid powertrain using a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine coupled to an electric motor. The Q70 will also be available with a new 2.2-litre diesel engine, with 167PS and 400Nm of torque. The four-cylinder unit has been extensively reworked to improve economy, with a new single variable-geometry turbocharger to reduce turbo-diesel lag time and improve fuel consumption.

The cabin gets a number of updates, with improved sound insulation to reduce wind, tyre, and mechanical noise. The suspension is also modified with new telescoping dampers that should soften the ride and improve the car’s ride over potholes. Safety kit is improved too, with Around View Monitor to help with low speed manoeuvring and help reduce  blind spots.
