SPECIALLY ADAPTED NOTE AT MOBILITY ROADSHOW

Fri, 02 Jun 2006
(Press Release)

Nissan will be premiering a specially adapted NOTE at the Mobility Roadshow from 8 -10 June 2006, at the event’s new venue, Kemble Airfield near Cirencester.

It will be joined by converted Nissan Micras, Primeras, Pathfinders and X-Trails at the UK’s largest outdoor mobility event.

Some of Nissan’s best selling cars have been fitted with an array of extras, like pedal transfer and push-pull hand operated brakes and accelerator levers, designed to keep people with disabilities mobile. Physically impaired drivers and passengers alike will be able to view Nissan’s converted vehicle and evaluate the options on offer to solve their mobility problems. Visitors to Nissan’s expanded stand (Stand Two) will also be able to test drive some of the vehicles.

Currently mobility vehicles make up 10% of the UK car market but this is expected to rise as the number of people with mobility problems increases. Presently 15%
(9.8 million) of the population are disabled and over 2.3 million people are blue badge holders.

The event showcases vehicles with the latest gizmos and gadgets, including lightweight, sports, power and manual wheelchairs; hand controls; hoists; car seats; commercial vehicles; trikes and scooters; walkers; rotating car seats; specialist wheels and tyres; suspension systems; ramps; seat clamps; wheelchair restraints; floor tracking; lifts and independent living aids.
