The 1.1-litre Rover 25 is a new entry level model at £7,995.

The 1119cc 16-valve DOHC K Series engine offers 75bhp at 6,000rpm and 70 lb ft (95Nm) torque at 5,000rpm. This gives it a 100mph top speed, with acceleration from 0-60mph in 13.5 seconds. The engine can return a combined fuel consumption of 42.0mpg with CO2 at 160g/km which puts it in the current £120 pa VED band.

The new 25 is available in 1.1i and 1.1iE trim, with specifications that include drivers airbag, power assisted steering, 60/40 split fold rear seat, stereo radio/cassette and alarm system all standard equipment. Additional features on the 1.1iE include electric powered sunroof, central door locking and driver height / lumbar seat adjustment. The interior has a modern cloth seat design with matching full depth moulded door casings. Burr walnut features on the contoured fascia with useful oddment compartments too.

Every Rover car includes a 3-year/60,000 mile warranty and features that include electronic multi-point fuel injection, programmed ignition and hydraulic tappets for optimised efficiency. The 3-door Rover 25 1.1i is the cheapest new Rover car, priced at £7,995 - with the 3-door 1.1iE at £8,585. Five door versions cost £8,495 and £9,085.

Factory fitted optional extras include airconditioning at £695 and ABS at £295.
