Latest Audi A3 may impress people buying a car

Wed, 22 Jul 2009
Motorists looking at buying a car that combines solid green credentials with impressive performance may want to pay a visit to their local Audi dealership.

The manufacturer has announced its A3 is now available with a new 1.6-litre engine that offers excellent efficiency and a great ride.

Fitted with the unit, the model can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 11.4 seconds and boasts a top speed of 121 mph.

However, it also offers lower CO2 emissions than its predecessors - at 109 g/km - meaning it qualifies for road tax of £35 a year.

In addition to this, it is capable of almost 69 mpg, so drivers may also be able to save money at the pump.

Audi explained the improved economy is partly the result of a new start-stop system.

Prices for the car begin at £17,485.

In related motoring news, the manufacturer recently announced the launch of its greenest ever A4.
