Performance BMWs at Goodwood

BMW are set to show off some of their most iconic cars at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the all new M5 super-saloon. Other BMW models on show at the event, which takes place from 1-3rd of July, include the classic 328, the M3 GTS and the Z4 GT3 race car.

The new M5 will make its public debut at the Festival of Speed ahead of it going on sale in November. The new model is fitted with a 4.4-litre V8 which produces 560hp and 680Nm of torque, making it the most powerful series production in BMW’s history.

Despite the increased power the new M5 is 30% more efficient than the old V10-powered one, recording a combined cycle figure of 28.5mph. TV star Vernon Kay and F1 celebrities Jake Humphreys and Murray Walker will be on the stand alongside the M5 over the weekend.

Besides the M5 making its premiere, the Z4 GT3 racing car will make a trip up the Goodwood hill, piloted by Le Mans driver Dirk Muller, and he’ll be around to sign autographs too.

To celebrate their heritage BMW are also bringing an M3 DTM car and a recreation of the classic 328 Kamm Coupe, named after aerodynamics pioneer Wunibald Kamm.

Finally, the track focused M3 GTS will make a run up the legendry hill route. Only 15 right hand drive examples of this bright orange limited edition model came to the UK, and they are all sold.
