Historics Total Sales at Brooklands Tops £2,000,000.

The much-anticipated first auction by Historics at Brooklands on June 2, generated a total sale of over £2,000,000

Historics at Brooklands, the new independent classic and sports car auction house launched just three months ago by private investment, has reported excellent results from its inaugural sale, held at their permanent base at Brooklands, on the evening of  Wednesday, June 2.

In front of a vibrant audience of 500+ in the Historics’ marquee, a total of 65 fine motor cars plus automobilia were offered for sale by Historics’ Auction Director, Edward Bridger-Stille and his colleague, Edward Rising.

When proceedings closed, a total sale of £2,032,357 had been confirmed, with 61% of consigned cars sold to UK and international bidders, with sale cars being successfully bought from as far afield as Australia.

Joint-founders, Liam Cardiff and Mark Perkins, commented: “There was serious, committed and vigorous  bidding on the floor, by phone and via the latest on-line i-bidder technology, culminating in a tremendous result for our first auction.  And we were blessed with a wonderful summer evening, which helped contribute to the real garden party atmosphere.”

Post-sale comments from the trade have included the fact that Historics’ opener was one of the best-supported sales in recent years which, as Bridger-Stille suggests, is testimony to his team’s skills, and passion for the classic car movement.

“We have worked hard in a very short time to establish Historics’ credentials as an auction house with wide-ranging appeal and real personability, and to prove our professional skills alongside a real interest and passion for classics shared by all our team.”

The majority of sales went to UK-domiciled buyers but Historics achieved significant  awareness and visibility in the build-up within the international community, resulting in registrations from over 15 countries, and motor cars being sold to buyers in Belgium, Portugal, Monaco, Sweden and as far afield as South Africa and Australia.

Historics at Brooklands next auction is on September 25, to which fine motor cars are already consigned and further entries are invited.  For more information, call 0800 988 3838, e-mail:, or see the website,
