Tue, 19 May 2009
The latest generation Golf made its auction debut at a recent Volkswagen closed sale at Manheim Auctions, Leicester. There were over 20 Golf Mk VI models offered among nearly 350 vehicles which also included examples of the New Beetle, Passat CC, Scirocco, Eos and Phaeton. The auction attracted nearly 100 franchised dealers, more than a quarter of whom joined online via Simulcast, Manheim’s live link to physical auctions. The result of the sale was a 100% conversion rate for the Golf Mk VI.
Ralph Cadman, Used Car Remarketing Manager, Volkswagen UK said: “I am very pleased with the performance of the new Golf at its auction debut. The strong attendance both in the auction hall and online produced some lively bidding which saw the used examples of the Golf Mk VI achieve 90% of list price.”
James Leese, Sales Director, Manufacturer Remarketing Services, Manheim added: “We are delighted with the success of the auction debut of the Golf Mk VI at Leicester. Manheim has a good, well established relationship with Volkswagen in the UK across several of its businesses and the success of this auction further demonstrates Manheim’s expertise in this area.”
