I thought it might be fun to be given short assignments on topics (anything from Jubilee clips to certain perspectives opposite to our held beliefs)

Yeah, probably I`m missing churning out all those reports - but it would give a yet to be explored angle - to have to write to a heading - precisely and not missing the meaning of the question.

As at college topic titles though, that you have to think about to answer.

Say, 250 words (in effect just a summary, as it`s for a forum)

I seem to remember for me 250 words was a sheet of A4 - in the long hand of those pre typing days.

How about a list of volunteers with the Mods giving out titles?

I would volunteer for that, its been for too long since I have written one, although 250 words will be a bit of a shock compared to 15,000 :p

And believe it or not I am quite good at reporting writing and do check for spelling and grammar unlike my posts on here which even I sometimes find hard to understand after reading them back!

Yes, It would be tough getting it into 250 words, but also a skill to do so I thought Rattle.

I will put together a list on Sunday afternoon for next weekend - if the Mods wish to give out titles. (I can give out titles if Mods are too busy)

Deadline and date of submission would be 8pm next Friday night.

Just put `YES` by your name if you`re up for it.

But (if from me) expect titles that may make you write opposite to your held views ;-)

(a little fun for next weekend)

My grammar and spelling may not be perfect but can I have a go please?

Oilrag - if you e-mail the list of titles to me, I'll put them on a sticky for you. I'll ask HJ whether he's willing to judge the entries. We'll need a closing date as well. Whilst grammer and spelling won't be a criteria. Can we ask for some semblance of comprehension though !

I'll do my best. My Mum always told me that hard work never hurt anyone and there's no such word as can't. :)

"Oilrag - if you e-mail the list of titles to me"

OK, PU. To keep it simple and give comparison - I will come up with three titles tomorrow afternoon. If that`s OK?
Any takers for written assignments? - Pugugly
Fine. I'll post them in sticky then. Can you come up with some basic rules ??
Any takers for written assignments? - oilrag
All done PU. Should be in your email.

"We'll need a closing date as well. Whilst grammer and spelling won't be a criteria."

Nice to see you're showing us the way on this, PU!

(Just in case my comment is too opaque, can anyone else spot the three solecisms in this extract from our esteemed moderator's post?) :-)

Grammar. criterion, no main verb in the sentence.

He's highly literate and was doing it deliberately!
