Peugeot 308 HDI 90 5 dr

In Thorium Grey, the Peugeot 308, the slightly larger sister to the 207, is a good size medium family hatchback.

This model comes as standard with 15 inch steel wheels and body colour door mirrors. Exterior Body Features include, black grill bars, body colour door and boot handles and bumpers.

The comfortable and spacious interior comes with a variety of great gadgets and gizmos. You'll find a digital display for clock and external temperature - making for interesting reading in the sub zero conditions of late. The dials are black with the surrounding dash grey. The 308 HDI has a reasonable sound system as standard, 6 Speakers in total. The steering column in mounted with multii function controls which manage the sterio as well as heating and air conditioning.

Storage is quite good inside the 308 also, 3 Grab handles with rear coat hooks, front door storage bins, drinks holders in the front and a lidded glove box with illumination and under floor lock luggage area. It also comes with hands tie down hooks in the luggage area and two shopping hooks under the rear parcel shelf to help avoid the clanging and banging that often goes on in the boot after a serious supermarket shop.

While you are unlikely to get hugely excited about the interior of the 308, in respect of its safety features, it should be taken very seriously indeed. The small hatch comes as standard with ABS and EBFD (Electronic break force distribution), which varies the breaking force applied to each of the vehicles breaks according to road conditions, speed, load etc. This is particularly useful in the icy conditions we are seeing at the moment. In addition, the 308 has three point rear seatbelts, driver and passenger smart air bags and rear curtain airbags. The seatbelts all have pretensioners with force limiters, front side airbags and rear door child safety locks.

The 308 HDI is diesel fuelled, as such, it does unfortunately feel a little sluggish in the upstart, however, it is a safe and confident drive on the longer motorway journey and is very kind to the fuel consumption. I was able to reach 60mpg on a combined road trip. It comes in at 120g/km CO2, which costs just £30 per year to tax so a real winner on the pocket too.

Overall, I enjoyed the time I spent with the Peugeot 308. It's not the most exciting car in the world to drive but if you're looking for a reliable, family hatch back with plenty of safety features that isn't going to cost you a fortune. Look no further.
