Porsche 918 Spyder (2014–2016)
Official performance figures were not available but a 0-62mph of just 3.2 seconds was given for the concept car, helped by the fact the 918 Spyder is incredibly lightweight with aluminium used throughout. This also helps keep down CO2 emissions to an amazingly low 70g/km, a figure even the 54bhp Smart ForTwo cdi can't match.
The decision to turn the 918 Spyder concept into a production car was taken by Porsche following a positive response from the public and customers to the Concept Study. It will also help Porsche to reduce the average CO2 emissions across its range as part of the forthcoming EC legislation that requires manufacturers to lower emissions on new models
