What car can fit 3 child seats, plus reasonable boot space, for £6000?

"My son is looking to swap his 2011 Peugeot 508 SW for an old Volvo XC90 to accommodate a growing family. He wants to be able to fit 3 child seats in the back and still have room for luggage on long trips. Economy is important so petrol engines are out. The budget is about £6000 but I'm worried about expensive servicing and repairs on something like the XC90. He has struggled to find a clean Ford Galaxy in his price range and says the boot is too small when all the seats are up. Can you recommend some alternatives?"
A £6000 XC90 is likely to be an expensive mechanical nightmare. What might work is a Volkswagen Caddy Maxi Life. I've been in the rearmost seat of one 7-up with luggage and it was fine. If he wants big and cheap, maybe a Hyundai i800, a KIA Sedona or a Ssangyong Rodius. These three are not recommendations, though.

Seven seater advice?

"My mother-in-law needs a reliable 7 seater to cart the kids around in. She has just had to scrap her 1993 Pajero and is in the market for a replacement. She will need to take the kids plus enough luggage for a weeks camping holiday, which to my mind rules out Touran sized MPV's. Her budget is £11k. Diesel auto is preferred, and fuel consumption should be sensible. It is also likely to be used for towing occasionally. Any recommendations?"
That pushes her into a Chrysler Voyager diesel auto or a Kia Sedona diesel auto or a Hyundai i800 diesel auto if she can find one. I wouldn't want to tow with a a Volkswagen Caddy Maxi Life 2.0TDI DSG because I don't think the box will stand it.

What can I replace my company Grand Espace with?

"I have been driving a company-funded Renault Grand Espace 7-seater, which is replaced every three years. I am due for a replacement in the Autumn and would have purchased the same model but this is no longer made. I particularly want something with the same number of seats and same luggage space in a similar length of vehicle."
The 8-seater Hyundai i800, Volkswagen Caddy Maxi Life or Chrysler Grand Voyager. There is a new Ssangyong soon to replace the Rodius, and that is quite big, and the KIA Sedona is roomy too. Otherwise it's a Citroen Dispatch/Peugeot Expert/Renault Trafic 8-seater.

Doesn’t figure

"According to your website, my annual road tax is £260 for my 2007 KIA Sedona 2.9 CRDi TS Auto but the DVLA charges me £445. I guess I'm not going to be lucky and the DVLA has got it wrong so I think there must be a mistake on your site."
Our figure is for the manual that emits 208g/km CO2. I checked at http://carfueldata.direct.gov.uk/search-new-or-used-cars.aspx The automatic chuffs out 237g/km, so is now taxed at £445.
