Is there a known fault with the Daihatsu YRV 4Trac gearbox?

"I've got a problem with my 1.3 Daihatsu YRV 4Trac. Its gearbox seems stiff and gets stiffer as you drive it (it still drives though, and does not grind). Is there a known problem with this gearbox? I believe it's the same box as the Yaris."
I don't know how you would get this fixed because it's a very rare car in the UK. But yes, basically Yaris engine and transmission apart from the transfer case.

What are your thoughts on the Daihatsu YRV?

"My friend is looking to buy a new car with a smallish engine. She has been looking at a 2003 Daihatsu YRV 1.3 F-Speed. What are your thoughts on this car? She needs an automatic and her budget is up to £3500 "
I've actually forgotten what that was and have no recent feedback on it at all. I would guess that some parts availability will be a problem.
